CUET UG: undergraduate admission guide
Understand CUET UG, university subject requirements, application strategy and undergraduate admission pathways.
What is CUET UG?
CUET (UG) is the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate admissions at participating universities. It provides a common examination route, while each university determines its own programme eligibility, subject mapping and admission rules.
Who should consider CUET?
Students completing or having completed Class 12 who want to explore participating central, state, private or other universities should check whether their target programme uses CUET and which subjects are required.
How does the process work?
- Identify the degree and universities you want.
- Check each university's programme-specific eligibility and CUET subject requirements.
- Select the appropriate test subjects/languages in the application.
- Prepare for the relevant domain subjects and general/language components where applicable.
- Take the examination and follow the participating university's admission/counselling process.
Popular study areas
CUET can be relevant to programmes in commerce, humanities, sciences, social sciences, languages, business and several other disciplines. The exact subject combinations differ by programme and university.
Important
Do not assume that one CUET subject combination qualifies you for every university course. Always check the current programme mapping published by the university and NTA.
